Vance E. Jones, 77, of Parkersburg passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2005, at his residence.
He was born July 14, 1927, in Grafton, W.Va., a son of the late Russell and Edna Collins Jones. He was a Word War II U.S. Navy veteran, a Mason and a member of the Beechwood Presbyterian Church and was retired from E.I. DuPont as a foreman after 30 years of service.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Elizabeth Joanne Buchanan Jones; two daughters, Deborah Jones and Sharon Grossenbacher, both of Parkersburg; two sons, Matthew Jones of Parkersburg and Timothy Jones of Fort Myers, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren; one sister, Regina Thomas of Parkersburg; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Mark Jones; one grandson, Joseph Jones; and two brothers, Earl and Ronald Jones.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green St., Parkersburg, with the Rev. John Koerner officiating. Burial will follow at the Cairo Masonic Cemetery, Cairo, W.Va. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to the services Saturday at the funeral home.
