FUNERAL IS HELD
Mrs. Beluah Womble Abernathy, 76, widow of Dr. J. G. Abernathy of Elkin, died Saturday at the home of her daughter, Dr. Olivia Abernathy in Greensboro, with whom she had made her home in recent years. Death was attributed to a heart attack.
She was a native of Goldston, a daughter of the late C.W. and Della Snipes Womble.
In addition to Dr. Olivia Abernathy she is survived by one other daughter, Mrs. Margaret Abernathy Miller of Washingtonn(sp), a former teacher at Statesville Senior High School; three brothers, Rev. C.F. Womble of Statesville, T.S. Womble of Greensville, S.C., and S.J. Womble of Wagran; two sisters, Mrs. John Hoyle, Jr., of Gastonia, and Mrs. Ed Harris, Sr., of Goldston; and two grandchildren.
She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Greensboro.
Funeral services were to be conducted at 2:30 p.m. today at First United Methodist Church in Elkin. Burial was to follow in Elkin Cemetery. (Obit provided by Cindy Womble Billman)
