Barbara Ellen Meyers
Barbara Ellen Titus was born in Hancock County, Ohio, September 18, 1850. She was the daughter of Rev. W. S. and Elizabeth Titus. Rev. Titus being for many years a minister in the United Brethren church. She was married to John G. Meyers of Woodland Township, Barry County, December 9, 1874. They lived in Woodland township and in Odessa township, Ionia county until 1880, when they came to the farm in Benton township where they lived until moving to Grand Ledge about twenty-five years ago. Mr. Meyers died August 20, 1913. After that she continued her residence in the home on Degroff street, Grand Ledge, until about fourteen years ago when she went to make her home with her daughter, Mrs. Arthur Munn, where she passed away January 1, 1933. Besides the daughter she is survived by one son, Orvis C. Meyers, who resides on the old farm in Benton township, a grandson, Dale J. Meyers; two sisters, Miss Melissa M. Titus of Charlotte and Mrs. Amanda A. Culbertson of Glendale, Calif; one brother Wm. S. Titus of Portland, ore. She was for many years a member of the United Brethren church, and at the time of her death she belonged to the Methodist church in Grand Ledge. Funeral services were held at two o'clock Thursday afternoon January 12, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Arthur Munn. Rev. G. E. Wright of the Methodist church at Grand Ledge officiated. Interment was in the family lot at Maple Hill cemetery, Charlotte.
