George Wallace survived the heartbreak of the disappearance and murder of his daughter, Michele, in 1974, and the suicide of his wife, Maggie, five weeks after Michele's disappearance. He lived to see his daughter's remains recovered, her murderer brought to justice, and to finally inter his daughter's remains with his wife's, her final wish. In January, 2006, George was found severely beaten in his recliner of his home. He died hours later at the hospital.
