Violet was a loving wife, mother and grandma. She was an avid gardener who loved her flowers. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by daughter, Vera Dale Haddock; parents, Aruthur and Hester Lee; brother, Robert E. Lee; sister, Pearlie Mae Arnold.
She is survived by a loving husband of 69 1/2 years, James J. Thompson; son, Jackie Thompson (Patricia); daughters, Sandra Kay Gray (Royce), Ruby Lynn Holt (Jerry); brothers, William Lee, of Memphis, Tenn., Carl Lee (Martha), of Florence, Ala., J.T. Lee (Faye), Georgia; sisters, Beulah Lisby, of Madison, Ala., Elnora Jones, of Florence, Esther Poarch (J.D.), Texas, Elizabeth Brewer (Butch), Texas; 15 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren; a host of loving nieces and nephews.
A special thanks to her wonderful nurses from Hospice of Shoals, Becky, Carley and Wanda, for the love and care given to our dear loved one.
Visitation will be Monday, Nov. 12, 2007, from 6-9 p.m. at Spry Serenity Chapel of Florence. The funeral service will be Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2007, at 11 a.m. in the chapel, with the Rev. Gary Marks officiating.
Pallbearers will be family members.
