Dora Deane (Randolph) Amundson, 102, passed away in Sandpoint, Idaho just before midnight on Thursday, Feb. 10, 2011.

Dora was born at home on her parent's farm near Ankeny, Iowa on Dec. 2, 1908.

She attended public school in Ankeny and Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. She began her teaching career at the Okoboji Consolidated School in 1929.

In 1930, she married Alton "Doc" Amundson and they celebrated 64 years together before Doc's passing in May of 1995.

In the early fall of 1937, the couple moved to Prineville, where they owned and operated Doc's Dry Cleaners. They were charter members of Our Savior's Lutheran Church.

Dora raised her children, was an avid seamstress, substitute teacher, active church member, and helped at the cleaners until they sold and retired in 1976. They spent the next twenty years visiting and spoiling their grandchildren.

After Doc's passing, Dora left Prineville to live with her daughter and family.

She is survived by her son, Alan (Gay Sue) Amundson of Ohio; daughter, Teena (Paul) Kusche of Sandpoint; grandsons, Matthew (Christine) Kusche and Brian (Rebecca) Kusche, all of Port Orchard, Washington; and great-grandchildren, Mason, Peyton, Anika and Colby; brother-in-law, John Amundson, and many nieces and nephews.

Dora was preceded in death by her husband, Alton Amundson; parents, Lewis and Alice (Stanfield) Randolph; sisters, Erma Hawkins, Nina Weston and Elizabeth Randolph; and brother, Lewis Randolph.

A celebration of Dora's life will be held at a later date.
