James William Jones, 71, who resided in, the Brush Creek community, near Fries, died at his home at 12:40 p. m. Monday, March 9 at 12:40 pm.
Born in Carroll County Mr. Jones was a son of the late Mike Jones and wife, Mrs. Betty Pearman Jones. Surviving are two sons, Everett Jones and Marlie Jones, both of Fries two daughters, Mrs. Myrtle Marsh, Fries, and Mrs. Grace. Woodell, Galax two sisters, Mrs. Lessie Sisk and Austinville, and two sons, Onnie Jones, Austinville, and Lonnie Jones, Fries, 25 grandchildren, and, 17 great
grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at Mt. Hope Methodist church Wednesday at 1:30 p. m. Rev. J.L. Cupp, Rev. Lonnie P. Shaw and Rev.F. L. Manning conducted the services. Interment, under Vaughan-Guynn direction, followed in the church cemetery.
