Mr. and Mrs. Paul Barger celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with their children, Mrs. Bedford Smith of Visalia, Calif., Mrs. Chuck Robertson of Tulsa, Jerry Barger and Mrs. Jimmy Dale Barger of Hydro, and Mrs. Donald Taylor of Borger, Texas, as hosts.
They were married January 2, 1928, at Anadarko. They have lived in the Eakly and Sickles area all of their married life.

Services for longtime area resident Paul Barger were Thursday morning, August 19, at the Eakly Baptist Church. Rev. Sam Porter and Rev. Paul Hudson, officiated, with burial in the Eakly Cemetery under direction of the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home.

Mr. Barger was born January 9, 1910 in Hinton, Ok. to Lanis and Maude Barger. He passed away August 16, 1993 in Weatherford, Ok. at the age of 83. Paul moved with his family to Lookeba the year he was born. He and the former, Lola Womack, were married January 2, 1928 in Anadarko. They moved from the Hinton-Lookeba area to Eakly in 1943. He was a farmer and a member of the Eakly Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Jerry Barger; four brothers, James, Obie, Hack and Ferris Barger; and two sisters, Maudine, who died in infancy and Myrtle Lasso.

He is survived by his wife of the home in Eakly; three daughters, Pauline Smith of Visalia, Ca., Reba Robertson of Tulsa, Ok. and Nelda Taylor of Fritch, Texas; one son, Jim Barger of Eakly; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Neva Propps of Hinton.
