Mr. Richard G. "Dick" Wenker, 74, died unexpectedly Tuesday, October 13, 2010 at his residence. He was born November 29, 1935 in Sheffield to the late Harry and Helen Young Wenker. Dick lived most of his life in the Sheffield area and was a graduate of Sheffield High School. Following graduation, he attended Grove City College and served in the U.S. Army in the mid '50s. He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church and Dick had just received his 50 year membership pin for North Star Lodge F&AM. He worked at Sylvania and retired from Penelec in 1992 after many years of service. Dick enjoyed antique cars (especially his Packard), coin collecting, boating and walking his faithful dog Watson. He is survived by his sister Charlotte (Wenker) Cochran, Sheffield; 1 nephew, Richard Chris Cochran and wife Susan, Sheffield, 3 nieces, Kim (Cochran) Gilloti and husband Randy, Warren, Connie (Cochran) Barr and husband Mike, Sheffield, and Stacey (Cochran) Donovan and husband Pat, Warren; 6 greatnieces and nephews, Savanna Cochran, Wesley Cochran, Katie Donovan, Jack Donovan, Tyler Gillotti, and Abigail Cochran; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Dick was preceded in death by his parents, and brother-in-law Richard Wade Cochran.
