---Mrs. Minerva Hence who has made her home for the past several months at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J.B. Aldrich, east of La Plata, died Sunday afternoon after suffering a stroke of apoplexy about two weeks ago. At the time of her death she was sixty-nine years, six months and twenty-four days of age.
---She was born in Davis County, Iowa February 4, 1858. Over fifty years ago she was married to William Hence and eleven children were born to them, five of whom survive, Mrs. Aldrich, La Plata, Mrs. Dan Dabney, St. Charles, Illinois, Mrs. Laura Mosley, Kansas City, Mrs. Maude Elliott, Souix City, Iowa and Mrs. Minnie Abbot, Owanka, South Dakota; nineteen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren. Her husband and six children having preceded her in death some years ago.
---She was a member of the Baptist Church, having united with that church in early life.
---Burial was made at La Plata cemetery.
