Josef Jerry Kostelecky was born March 19, 1856 in Laviba, Russia (Austria). He came to the US aboard the Estonia, leaving Libau (now Liepaja, Latvia)on May 4, 1908 arriving in New York City on May 21, 1908. He went to his brother, Alexander, and later homesteaded and farmed his own land ten miles south of Dickinson, ND for many years. They had a sod house. He married Anna Korabeck on March 19, 1882 in Russia. They had ten children. He passed away May 8, 1940.
