GUILL MARTIN BARKER, JR., age 73, of Greensboro, North Carolina, died Tuesday, February 6, 2001 in Moses Cone Hospital. He was born in Ivanhoe, Virginia, the son of the late Guill Martin Barker, Sr. and Emma Vaughn Barker. He was a retired accountant and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He is survived by: his wife of 52 years - Doris Crawford Barker; four sisters - Ruby Thomas, Madeline Hodge, Shirley Headspeth all of Greensboro, NC and Opal Jefferson of Rural Hall, NC; three brothers - Saint Barker of Bland, VA, Dean Barker of Max Meadows, VA and Billy Barker of Wytheville, VA; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Graveside services and interment will be held Thursday, February 8, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mt. Hope Cemetery, Carroll County with Pastor Donald E. Drake and the Rev. Rance Edwards officiating. American Legion Post # 9 will conduct graveside military rites. The family will receive friends at the Barnett Funeral Home from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday. Barnett Funeral Home in Wytheville, Virginia is in charge of the arrangements.
