Mrs. Mattie A. Deacye Bridges, 71, Topeka, died today at a local hospital after an extended illness. She was born May 25, 1902 at Ecru, Miss. She had been a resident of Topeka since 1952, coming here from bolivar, Tenn.
She was a member of the Seaman Baptist Church. She was married to William M. Bridges in 1918 in Fayette, Ala. He survives.
Other survivors include 4 daughters, Mrs. Mary Holder, Harveyville, Mrs. Johnie Mae Oliver, Topeka, Mrs. Bettie Burnett and Mrs. Della Troxler, both of Millington, Tenn.; 3 sons, Mack J. Bridges, Tulsa, Edward O. Bridges, Allen, Tex., and Tommy Bridges, Topeka; a sister, Mrs. Beulah Blanchard, Selmer, Tenn.; 22 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services will be Wednesday at Parker Mortuary with burial in Rochester Cemetery.
