Age: 22∼Charles G. Larrabee Abel, pharmacists mate 3-c, twenty-two, was killed in action off the French coast, according to word received by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.E. Abel, 435 S. West End Ave., from the Navy Department. The sailor served under Vice-Admiral Kirk in the initial landings on the French coast, and he was also a veteran of the invasion of Sicily. Enlisting in the Navy in December, 1942, Abel received his training in Bainbridge, Md., Norfolk, Va., and Brooklyn, NY. He was formerly a pupil at McCaskey High School. Besides his parents, he is survived by a sister, Mrs. Olivet Sprout, Philadelphia, and two brothers, Lt. Herbert Abel, stationed at Portland, Ore., and Cpl. John E. Abel, Jr., at Camp Shelby, Miss.
