Elizabeth was a daughter of Sarah Burr Oakley & Sherman Booth Ruggles. She had 4 siblings: Henry Booth, Almon Burr, Olive Jane and Grace Elizabeth.
Elizabeth married Charles Wesley Randall on December 24, 1859. Their son: Dr. William Sherman Randall was my great-grandfather. Elizabeth's brother's son was the famous actor "Charlie Juggles".
The following 'ditty' was written by Elizabeth to her g-grandson and new wife, 1918:
"To Helen and Charles,
Here's hoping - when Christmas next year comes
Some little 'honey Bunch' may be here
to share the presents on our tree
Meantime - accept this gift from me
(To start the Hope Chest don't you see?)
Some in this crowd are growing old -
And we need additions to the fold -
THREE Grandma's most impatient wait
So hurry up! Twill be too late!
Its Great Grandma"
Note: Helen & Charles gave her, her wish. Their first and only child, a son was born July 27, 1919.
