Ruby Freeman, our beloved mother, joined her heavenly father on Sunday, May 31, 2009. Ruby was born April 18, 1916, to Hazel Dille Reed and Lawrence LaFayette Reed, in a log cabin in Elwood, Utah.
At the age of 1, her family moved to Camas Prairie, Idaho, where they enjoyed the scenic view of Soldier Mountain from their front porch. Her family later moved to Franklin, Idaho, now known as Caldwell.
Ruby graduated from Caldwell High School in 1935. That same year she married Walter Ottely (Bud) Freeman and made their first home in Nampa. She worked various jobs throughout her life, and enjoyed selling Avon for over 20 years, earning numerous awards.
Ruby was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She especially enjoyed the primary and singing in the choir.
Ruby put her children and grandchildren first, always looking out for their good. She was always cooking, planning picnics and family time. She worked hard to teach her children values, character and love of life. She always carried a smile on her face. She cherished the time she was able to spend with her grandchildren.
Ruby had a fun sense of humor and enjoyed hobbies of genealogy, music, quilting, canning and bowling. She especially enjoyed her flower garden.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 47 years, three children: Lawrence Reed Freeman and two infants, Donald Ray Freeman and Ruby Lavon Freeman.
She is survived in life by three daughters; daughter-in-law, 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and numerous loving relatives.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Sunny Ridge for the care and kindness shown to Ruby.

"Our Mother"
Her chair is vacant now,
Her steps no longer heard;
Her spirit now among the best,
No pain or sorrow to endure;
She will forever live in the hearts,
Of those whose life she touched.
