Funeral services for Russell V. Jordan, 85, of Nampa, who died on Thursday, April 3, in the Nampa hospital, will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday at the Nampa First Ward, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Bishop Ted Hess of the First Ward will officiate. Burial will follow in the Kohlerlawn Cemetery, Nampa, under the direction of the Alsip Funeral Chapel, Nampa.
Mr. Jordan was born Oct. 25, 1900, in Wingate, Ind., to Thomas V. and Bertha T. Jordan. He was reared and educated in Indiana and Idaho.
He lived in Canada and Utah before marrying Ruby C. Meadows on July 10, 1925, in Ogden, Utah. The couple made their home there until 1943 when they moved to a 120-acre farm north of Nampa, where they farmed.
He was an active member of the Nampa First Ward, LDS Church, where he served in different organizations and in the bishopric from 1954 to 1960.
He is survived by his wife of Nampa; one daughter, Jean M. Stettler of Roy, Utah; three sons, James F. Meadows of Ogden, Utah, and Richard V. Jordan and Lee T. Jordan, both of Nampa; 20 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by two daughters, Betty Lou Loveland and Donna Stephens; three sisters and five brothers.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday at the Alsip Funeral Chapel and from noon to 12:45 p.m. Monday at the church. The family will greet friends at the Alsip Funeral Chapel today from 7 to 9 p.m.
