Jordan Grocer, Dies
At 84 in His Home
James E. Hudson, 84, of 11
Chapel St., Jordan, died Monday,
Feb. 19 at his home.
Born in Morrisville, he lived
in Syracuse before moving to
Jordan 53 years ago. He was
manager of the Great Atlantic
-and Pacific Tea Co., Jordan before
his retirement in 1950.
He managed the A&P in
Skaneateles for about 10 years
until 1947.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs.
Annis Kelly Hudson; three
sons, James E. Jr., of Bayside;
Harvey Kenneth of Jordan,
and Robert E. Hudson of
Riverside, N.J.; two daughters,
Mrs. Charlotte Kovarik
of Brooklyn, and Mrs. John
McMullen of Weedsport; two
sisters, Mrs. John Denny and
Mrs. Ella Bartlett; 14 grandchildren;
12 great-grandchildren.
Services were Thursday at
the B. L. Bush and Sons Funeral
Chapel, Jordan, the Rev. Gilbert
C. Mitchell officiating Burial
will be in Maple Grove
Cemetery, Jordan, in the spring.
