Glenn was born in Roscoe, Texas, on Nov. 10, 1939, to Arlie and Vesta Reece. He married the love of his life, Glenda Sue Tatum, on July 3, 1959. They were married in Lovington, N.M. Glenn graduated from Sul Ross State University with a degree in History Education in 1966. He dedicated his life to the ministry at the age of 17, and faithfully served in the Southern and Texas Baptist Conventions until his death. He pastored churches in Marfa, Imperial, Sundown, Nocona, Post, Sherman and Levelland, Texas. After his retirement he was actively involved in the Southern Baptist Convention of Texas, where he served as a Field Ministry Strategist. Throughout his career he received numerous awards for his faithful service. Poppy loved working with his hands, but he loved nothing more than his family. He was a father to his children, his grandchildren, his great-grandchildren, his siblings, and his nieces and nephews; everyone knew him as Poppy.
Glenn leaves behind his wife; children, Darrell (Raeline), Post, TX, Tammy (Kelly) Mason, Lubbock, TX, Belinda, Levelland, TX, and Stephen (Amy), Lubbock, TX; grandchildren, Rachel (Craig) Roberson, Sarah (Aaron) Morris, Aaron (Shawn) Gray, Cody, Blaine, Jadin, Madison and Tatum Reece; great-grandchildren, Mason, Reece, and Cole Roberson, Kambell and Kennedi Morris, and Kaden and Kellyn Gray; sisters, Joyce Wellborn and Pat (Don) Teltschik; brother, Eddie (Patti) Reece; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
