Benjiman H. Moon Passes Quietly Away Friday Afternoon

Altho the announcement that Benjiman H. Moon had passed quietly away at his country residence in Dayton township Friday afternoon, was not unexpected, nevertheless it came as a surprise to the many friends in this city. Mr Moon has been in failing health for a long time and has been confined to this bed for the greater portion of this year. He was surrounded at the time of his death by his beloved ones, to whom the entire community extends a heartfelt sympathy.

Mr. Moon was one of the oldest settlers of this county, having resided in this county for the past twenty-seven years. He was a native of Ohio, being born in Licking county, on the 14th of Feb., 1835. In 1860 he moved to Ft. Wayne, Ind., where he made his home for four years. In 1864 he removed to Iowa, locating in Marshall county.

On the twelfth of December, 1869, he was united in marriage to Miss Jane Wallin. To this union was born eight children, five sons and three daughters, who with their mother are left to mourn his death. He leaves four brothers living, one living in Nebr., two in Col., and the other one near Britt.
