RICHARD TORREY

PORTVILLE-Richard Torrey of Barber Town Road, was pronounced dead on arrival Tuesday (Nov. 11, 1980) at the Olean General Hospital, following an apparent heart attack.
Born in Shinglehouse, Pa., on June 4, 1938, he was a son of Jasper and Erma Burrell Torrey. He was married to the former Leah C. Whitington, who survives, on Feb. 14, 1974, in Lancaster, Ohio.
Mr. Torrey was a graduate of Portville Central School; and a veteran of the Korean Conflict.
He was employed with Western Electric of Columbus, Ohio as a tool and die maker.
Mr. Torrey was a member of the Franklin United Brethren Church of New Albion, Ohio.
Surviving, besides his widow, are three daughters, Mrs. James (Deborah) Hendren of New Albion, Mrs. Donald (Diana) Weaver of Columbus, and Miss Michelle Torrey at home; a son, Richard C. Torrey of Columbus; four grandchildren; three stepsons, Sgt. Richard Bowman of Biloxi, Miss., Kelly Bowman of Columbus, and Mark Bowman of Oswego; three brothers, Thomas E. Torrey and Michael Torrey, both of Portville, and Daniel Torrey of Pataskala, Ohio; a sister, Mrs. Larry (Gayle) Wheeler of Portville; his parents of Portville; and several nieces and nephews.
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Ceres, Pa.
