Dewey Almon Whitehead, 54, of Eloise died yesterday in the hospital in Bartow.
A native of Alabama he moved here three months ago from Ypsilanti, Mich. He was
a citrus worker and a member of the Baptist church.
He is survived by his widow, Lottie Whitehead of Eloise; four sons, Jimmy
Whitehead of Altus, Okla.; Kenneth Whitehead of Ypsilanti; David Whitehead of
Eloise; and Bond Dale Whitehead of Winter Haven; two daughters, Mrs. Janeice
Sammon of LaFayette, Ind.; and Miss Esther Whitehead of Eloise; four sisters,
Mrs. Clara Gordon of Ypsilanti; Mrs. Beulah May of Oklahoma; Mrs. Lorrine
Freeman of Tennessee; and Mrs. Maudie Harraway of Galveston, Tex.; and three
grandchildren.
Plans for the services are not complete but will be announced later by Mitchell
Funeral Home.
