Claude H. Fry, a veteran of World War I, age 74, passed away in the Veterans Administration Hospital in Grand Junction Sunday, Jan 31, following an illness of several years. Valley Funeral Home in Montrose was in charge of his cremation.
Graveside services, with Rev William Kenney officiating, were held Sunday, February 7, at 2:00 pm in the Cedar Cemetery where his ashes were buried alongside his mother and his brother, Gene.
Mr. Fry was born at Ohio City, Colorado, December 19, 1891, the son of Frank and Minnie Tarkington Fry. He received his education in the Gunnison County school system. He was a resident of Colorado and New Mexico all of his life. Mr. Fry was a miner from the time he was a very young man until his health forced him to retire.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, John and Gene; two sisters, Jessie and Mary. Known survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Brownie Huff of Delta, Juanita Brown, address unknown, and Mrs. W. J. Cooper of Nucla; numerous nieces and nephews
