Jessie Marie Bainbridge, 77, of East Moline, died Sunday, Jan. 4, 2004, at Trinity Medical Center, West Campus, Rock Island.
Graveside services are 9 a.m. Monday at Rock Island National Cemetery. Anyone wishing to attend the committal services should be at the funeral home by 8:30 a.m. Monday. Visitation is 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline. Following visitation, her body will be cremated. Memorials may be made to the family.
Jessie Godsil was born May 30, 1926, in Dahinda, Ill., the last of 13 children to James C. and Hilda Godsil. She married James E. Bainbridge July 6, 1942, in Kahoka, Mo. They lived in Galesburg and Oquawka. When James retired, they moved to their home in St. Ambroise, Canada.
Jessie had spent the last several years back with her family in Illinois. She spent her life enjoying her family and friends, playing piano and singing in their dance band, selling Avon and keeping the coffeepot going.
She was loved and will be remembered by her son, James "Tex" (Peg) Bainbridge, Peterson, Iowa; daughters, Jerre Bainbridge, East Moline, and Jennifer (Dale) DeFauw, East Moline; grandchildren and spouses, Jim Brown, Marcia (Steve) Glidden, Cindy (Ramiro) Cedeno, Colleen Zepeda, James Bainbridge, Kelly Grave, Kathleen (Sean) King and Jeff (Cindy) DeFauw; 14 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, James, who died in 1994; 12 brothers and sisters; a granddaughter, and a grandson.
