She was the daughter of Benjamin and Mary (Riggs) Twitchell of Dorchester, MA.

She was but 10 years old when her father, Benjamin Twitchell, was killed by Indians and his house burned. This occurred in 1675-6, at the outbreak of King Phillips's War.

She married John Rockwood, 19 July 1688, Massachusetts.

She was the mother of eight children;
