PRISQUE ASHLINE
An old oak that had withstood the storms for many years at Montys Bay has fallen. Prisque Ashline was called to his eternal home Monday evening February 27, 1928, Altho he had lived fourteen years beyond, the allotted span of man, we are loth to see him go and to realize that we will see his face and receive his cordial greeting no more. While his death was very sudden, it did: not come to him unexpected nor find him unprepared. The last months of his life, were a continual evidence of his resignation. He lived in mindful anticipation of this final event ever increasing to greater penfection to the last moments of his life. He was true to his Lord, to his church, to his neighbors and to his conventions of duty, and we have reason to believe that the Lord will say, "Thou has been faithful ?over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things enter tho into the joy of thy Lord."

Prisque Ashline was born at Cooperville, Jan. 22, 1844. He married Henrietta Bertrand, daughter of John B. Bertrand of Point Au Rousse in 1884. They bought the Jonas Gilbert farm at Montys Bay and since lived there. Three children in were born to them, Abram and Julia; who are at the homestead with their mother and Rev. Sister Rosalie instructor of Nurses at the Champlain Valley Hospital. He also leaves one brother Jerry Ashline of Fitchburg, Mass., and one sister Mrs. Jedson Trombly of Chazy, who were at the funeral besides the following that came from a distance, Allbert Asthline, Miss Doris Ashline, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Pierce of Fitchburg and ? Brun of Lowell. The sisters present from the C. V. Hospial Plattsburgh were: Mother Mary, Sister Rosalie, Sister Cyprian, Sister Christina, Sister Anna Maureen, Sister Mary Carmen.

The funeral service was held at St. Joseph's church, Thuraday forenoon where Mr. Ashland was baptized and married. The Requim mass was sung by Rev. Geo. Garrard, pastor of the church, assisted by Rev. F. X Charboneau of West Chazy as deacon and Rev Elodore Valois of Champlain acting as Sub Deacon. The singing was under the direction Octave Filion. Father Meilleurs of West Chazy, Ezra Trepanier and Mrs Victor Bechard of Champlain assisting the church choir. Mr. Trepanier sang "Adieu" as the casket was carried from the church by the following bearers: Warren L. Fairbank, Frank Neverett, Alex Boire, Peter Patnode, George Brunell, Alex Brunell.
