__Mary Ella King, 83, of the West Ridge Care Center, Cedar Rapids, died there Monday, Dec. 24, 2007, following a brief illness. Private memorial services will take place, with inurnment in Linwood Cemetery.
__Survivors include her sisters, Jean King of Cedar Rapids and Barbara Orton of Marion; niece, Lisa (Dan) Gorbatjuk of Marion; great-nephew, William Gorbatjuk; and great-niece, Emma Gorbatjuk.
__She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Harry E. King.
__On June 23, 1924, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Mary was born to Harry I. and Ruth (Clement) King . She was a secretary for Rockwell Collins Radio, retiring in 1979.
__Mary loved animals and the family requests memorials be made in Mary's memory to the Cedar Valley Humane Society, 7411 Mount Vernon Rd. SE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52403.
__The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Hospice of Mercy and the staff of West Ridge Care Center.
