Ms. Donna Lee Warlitner, 80, of Harrisonburg, died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2005 at Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg, Va.
She was born June 10, 1924, in Arbovale, W. Va., and was the daughter of the late Robert Dewie and Tressie Rella Nelson Bennett.
Donna is the last surviving member of her immediate family. Her brothers, Samuel and Douglas Bennett, her sisters, Joann Kiser and Barbara Jean Bennett and half brother, Richard Nelson, have all passed before her.
Donna never had any of her own children, but she spent her life raising others. She was like a second mother to Ray Bennett and a grandmother to his children, Jessica, Kaitlyn, and Cody Bennett, all of Harrisonburg. She also helped to raise Kitty Lineweaver and Sandy Wampler of Harrisonburg. Jesse Bennett II of Bridgewater and Roger Bennett of Bow, N.H.. Donna was a warm and generous person. She was very loved and will be missed.
Family will receive friends on Friday, Feb. 25, at 7 p.m. at the home of Goldie Bennett at 224 Myrtle St. Harrisonburg, Va.
She will be laid to rest at Weaver's Mennonite Church Cemetery in a private ceremony.
