Cecilia G. Arias,61, lifelong Deming resident, died Saturday, Feb. 17,2001, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Albuquerque. A prayer vigil will be at 7 p.m. today at St. Ann's Catholic Church. Mass of the Rusurrection will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Ann's Catholic Church with Fr. Jorge Soria officiating. The Rite of Committal will follow at Mt. View Cemetery.
Cecilia was born April 27,1939 in Deming to Antonio and Josephine Garcia Gonzales. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church. She is survived by her husband, Jesse Arias of Deming; two sons, Alfred Arias and his wife Millie of Deming, Lonnie Arias and his wife Tara of Silver City; one daughter, Tricia Masciale and her husband Barry of Ashburn, VA.; two brothers, Luis Gonzales of Phoenix,Az.; Lorenzo Gonzales of Deming; one sister Sally Hurley of Deming; four grandchildern, Jarrod, Jesse, Jake and Cassie Arias; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Antonio and Josephine Gonzales, her grandson, Brett Arias.
Pallbearers will be Jarrod Arias, Joe Pastron, Richard Pastron, Fernie Escobar, Charlie Quarrell, and Larry Zumwalt. Honorary bearers are Jess Alan Arias, Raul Garcia, and Jake Arias.
