Evelyn R. Reese, 66, of Muskogee, died Sunday, February 27, 2011 at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa. She was born December 24, 1944 in Gore, Oklahoma to Reuben and Mary (Choate) Ellis. Evelyn attended school in Warner and graduated from Warner High School. After high school, she started a family and was employed at several different jobs before beginning a career at the Bureau of Indian Affairs where she worked for many years. Evelyn loved her pets and her garden. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Kelli Reese of Ft. Gibson; her mother, Mary Ellis; brother, Reuben Ellis, Jr.; sister and brother-in-law, Lou and Judd Scott; her children's father, Henry Reese; nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 3, 2011 at Muskogee Church of Christ with Mr. Kevin Stewart officiating. Interment will follow in Warner Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mike Reese, Scott Craig, Faron Pritchett, Joseph Rainwater, Paul Choate, Oliver Chambers, and Bobby Yandell. Honorary pallbearers are Bill Rogers, Bill Cook and Charlie Cook. Friends may wish to remember Evelyn by making memorials to the American Cancer Society, 4110 S. 100th East Ave., Suite 101, Tulsa, OK 74146. Funeral service arrangements are under the direction of Foster-Petering Funeral Home.
