Joan Dalton, 67, died Feb. 28, 2011, at Indian River Medical Center, Vero Beach. She was born in New York City and lived on North Hutchinson Island for 11 years, coming from Montvale, NJ.

She was employed by Bell Telephone of New York and later worked for the Social Security Administration in New York City, from which she retired. Locally, she was employed by the Vero Beach Museum of Art. She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Polish American Social Club and Italian American Club, all in Vero Beach. She graduated from Thomas A. Edison State College, Trenton, NJ, with an Associate in Arts degree and then graduated from Montclair State College, Montclair, NJ, with a bachelor's degree in Mathematics.

Services: A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. March 3 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Vero Beach. Interment will be private. Arrangements are by Strunk Funeral Home and Crematory of Vero Beach.
