Troy Watts Mashburn, Sr., 94, passed away Saturday, February 19, 2011 at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, TN. Visitation will be from 9 - 11 am Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Funeral Services are 11 am Tuesday from the Chapel of Ott & Lee Funeral Home with burial to follow in Lakewood Memorial Park in Jackson, MS. Mr. Mashburn was a graduate of Pelahatchie High School and the University of Mississippi. Upon graduating, he practiced law in Brandon before joining the Navy in World War II. After the war he returned to Brandon and served as Sheriff of Rankin County. Subsequent to his public service, he engaged in various private enterprises. He was a charter member of the Brandon Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Hazel; two sons, Fr Troy (Pamela) Mashburn, Jr. and Timothy (Deb) Mashburn; six grandchildren, Timothy (Marti) Mashburn, Kate Mashburn, Erin (Christian) Moulton, Hannah (Matthew) Snowden, Troy (Taya) Mashburn, and Sarah (Joel) Finley; six great-grandchildren; one nephew, Troy Luther (Suzanne) Mashburn; two nieces, Levy Jane Dutsch and Mary Lou Mashburn; a great-nephew, Troy Ryan Mashburn; and a great-niece, Ellen (Ben) Beasley, and a great-great-niece.

The family request that any memorials be made to the Brandon Baptist Church Building Fund.
