Ora was born to Eugene W. Ables, Sr., and Anna Laura (Cheadle) Ables. After living in Santa Maria, California for some years, the family moved to Long Beach.
When Ora was old enough, she took nurse's training and thus began her nursing career as an R.N. She was employed by a hospital in Olive View, California; which treated patients with tuberculosis. She worked there until her retirement years; then moved to Yucaipa, California. Ora had been married once and then divorced. She didn't have any children of her own and doted on her nieces and nephews. She was a very kind and thoughtful Christian lady, and she served the Lord throughout her lifetime here on earth.
Ora was survived by niece; Beverly (Ables) Adkins/Simmons (presently Beverly Flowerday), of Oregon. Also surviving; nieces Jane (Ables) Williston, Ruth (Ables) Hemler, Arla (Price) Blake, and nephews Glenn Price and Norman Ables.
