OBITUARY OF MRS JACOB WIGAL
Mrs. Jacob Wigal, who died at her home in Osakis Tuesday of last week, was taken to Springfield, Minn., last Friday for burial. Following short services at the home here at 9 a.m. Friday, another service was held at Springfield at 2:30 o'clock at the Community Church there. Interment took place in the Springfield Cemetery, where Jacob Wigal lies buried.
Officiating at the service here was Rev. A.H. Ruehmann, pastor of the Methodist Church.
Mrs. Wigal, who was ninety years and eighteen days old at time of death was born in Wisconsin on Sept. 27, 2850. She was married to Jacob Wigal, a Civil War veteran, on Nov 9, 1867 at Oak Grove, Wis., her name before her marriage having been Alice D. Weed.
In 1872 she and her husband came to Minnesota, taking a homestead in North Star township, near Springfield. After living there for thirty years they moved to a farm near Sheldon, No. Dak., where they spent the next six years.
After that they moved to Osakis and here they lived until their death. Mr. Wigal died Jan 8, 1934.
She leaves to mourn her passing two daughters, viz. Miss Mary Wigal, who has made her home with her mother for a number of years, and Mrs. Lida Lowell of Loyal, Wis., and two grandchildren.
Miss Mary Wigal accompanied her mother's remains to Springfield, and is spending some time there before returning home.
