Son of William "Bud" & Gloria Roney. He has 1 daughter. Gary attended grade school in Embden, Alice and Casselton, ND. He graduated HS in Casselton, ND. He attended Wahpeton State School of Science. Gary worked as a bar manager for both the Elks Club and Sports Bar in Fargo, ND. Later he worked for a wholesale plumbing supply company in Fargo until health problems led to his retirement. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking and animals. He was married to Margie Idso, they later divorced. He was in a relationship with Barbara Halland and they have a daughter. His passing came from complications from diabetes. He had been a resident of the Good Samaritan Home in Arthur for several years.
