ODESSA--Aaron Griffin Taylor, 82, of Waynesboro, Virginia, died Feb. 23, 2011, at 9 p.m. at his home after a long battle with cancer.

Born on April 30, 1928, in McCamey, Aaron's family moved to Odessa in 1934, where he graduated from Odessa High School in 1944. Aaron worked in the oil fields of West Texas many years and subsequently as an auto mechanic in Odessa. He later moved to Colorado and got his Masters in vocational education teaching auto mechanics high school and eventually at Denver Community College from which he retired in 1978. Still in Colorado, Aaron became an aviation mechanics teacher in 1984. He continued to teach after he moved to Waynesboro, Virginia in 2004 where he taught at Blue Ridge Community College in Wyers Cave, Virginia until July 29, 2010.
