Son of James Henry and Ethel Frances Knight Ponsell, born in Florida and raised in Georgia, after high school he joined the US Air Force during the Korean War, after discharge he met the love of his life Annie Laurie Kathleen Moyers and married his beloved wife on December 26, 1953, they made their home in Jacksonville, Fla where they raised 2 children, then in 2001 they moved to Spring Hill, Fla to be closer to their daughter and her family.

Neil K. Ponsell, 77, of Spring Hill, FL., passed away Wednesday,(November 1, 2006) at Spring Hill Regional Hospital. Born in Jacksonville, FL he moved to Spring Hill 5 years ago from Jacksonville. He was an U.S. Air Force veteran and a branch manager for General Motors. Neil enjoyed woodworking, golf, fishing and was a member of Hope Community Bible Church of Spring Hill. He mostly loved spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Kathleen of Spring Hill; 1 son, Kenneth M. Ponsell of Orlando; 1 daughter, Laurie M. Eubanks of Brooksville; 1 sister, Laverne Scruggs of Jacksonville; 5 Grandchildren; 2 Great-grandchildren.
Friends may call 6-8:00 PM Saturday, November 4, 2006 at the Turner Funeral Homes Spring Hill Drive Chapel, services will be held at 7:00 PM.

Neil and Katie were both cremated, their urns were buried in a single grave in Tanner Cemetery on April 9, 2011. In a Celebration of Life ceremony the children were fulfilling a life long wish of Katie's to be buried as close to her mother as she could be, the grave that Katie's ashes are buried is in the row across from the Moyers family section of the cemetery and is directly across from her mother's headstone.
