Actor. Born Rauff de Ryther Daun Acklom in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, he began his career as part of Basil Sydney's Touring Company in 1924. After appearing in several Broadway productions, he made his big-screen debut in "Journey's End" (1930). Signed to Universal Studios, he became an acclaimed figure for his roles in the classic horror films "Dracula" (1931), "The Mummy" (1932) and "The Black Cat" (1934). He appeared in 39 films from 1930 to 1936, with credits to include "The Last Flight" (1931), "A Bill of Divorcement" (1932), "Roman Scandals" (1933), "Mystery of Edwin Drood" (1935), and "A Woman Rebels" (1936). He died of natural causes at age 98.
