Wilson Ray Hogwood Dies


Wilson Ray Hogwood, 224 South Congress St., a retired painter and a resident of Emporia since 1927,died Friday afternoon in St. Mary's Hospital. Funeral services will be at 2p.m. Monday in Roberts-Blue-Barnett Chapel. They will be conducted by the Rev. Neil Heidrick, pastor of the Grace Methodist Church. Burial will be in Mapleewood Cemetery.


The son of John and Eva Angell Hogwood,Wilson Hogwood was born April 24th, 1896, in Elwood,Ind., and he was married to Mable Sierer on March 15th, 1936 in Emporia. Mr. Hogwood was a member of the Grace Methodist Church, a veteran of World - War I and a member of Lowry-Funston Post 1980, Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Roberta Fuller,and he is survied by his wife,of the home; one son King Marshall Hogwood, Kokomo, Ind.;two daughters, Ruth Ann Messerschmidt, Rt. 2, and Rose Gibson, Kokomo,Ind; one brother, William, of Tipton, Ind., nine grand-childern and seven great-grand-childern.
