DORA L. (BLACKLEDGE) ELLISON , 91, of Rockport died Thursday, July 3, 2003, at Liberty Village in Pittsfield. She was born Feb. 23, 1912, in New Canton to William and Viola Billings Blackledge. She married Lee R. Ellison Jan. 11, 1932, in Pittsfield. He died April 10, 1972. She was a homemaker and had been employed for many years by the Brown Shoe Co. in Pittsfield. She enjoyed fishing, picking blackberries and was an avid reader. Survivors include four sons, Roger, Donald and Doug Ellison, all of Rockport, and Ronald Ellison of Hull; two daughters, Velda Barnes of Rockport and Carol Rice; 20 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, William Ellison; a daughter, Kathleen Barnes, an infant daughter, Geraldine; two grandsons, one great-granddaughter, four brothers and two sisters. Funeral services were Monday, July 7, at the Ward-Lummis Funeral Home in Pleasant Hill with the Rev. Dean Collings officiating. Burial was at Samuel Taylor Cemetery in Rockport. Memorials are to the charity or organization of the donor's choice. Pallbearers were Mike Ellison, Tom Ellison, Todd Ellison, Ron Ellison, Tim Womble and Brett Smith.
