Mr. Robert "Rocky" Angel, age 58, a resident of Rockwood, TN passed away Thursday, March 3, 2011 in the Methodist Medical Center, Oak Ridge, TN. He was born April 1, 1952 in Harriman, TN to Robert Hillman Angel and Doris Ann Satori Angel. Mr. Angel was a member of First Baptist Church, Rockwood, TN and a retired Mail Carrier with the U.S. Postal Service with 22 years of service. He was an honorably discharged Warrant Officer (W-2) with the U.S. Army serving as a Paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division and a pilot in the 194th Airborne Division. Mr. Angel was an animal lover who fed all of the pets on his mail route, and was an avid hunter, fisherman and golfer. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Ricky Angel.


The family will receive friends Monday, March 7, 2011 from 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Evans Mortuary, Rockwood. Graveside services and interment will follow in the Willard Park Cemetery, Harriman with Rev. Ernie Willis officiating. Military honors will be given by the Roane County Military Honor Guard.
