Thomas Henry Mathias, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Mathias, died at the University hospital in Boulder last Monday night, October 6, following a few days illness with bowel trouble. In a vain effort to save the little one's life an operation was resorted to but it was of no avail and the boy died while still on the operating table.
He was born at his parents' home in Lafayette May 13, 1919, and at the time of his birth his father was with the American troops in France. He had been a bright and healthy child up to the time of his last illness and was unusually bright and attractive.
Funeral services were held at the home Wednesday afternoon conducted by Rev. R. C. Boss and the remains laid to rest in the Lafayette cemetery.
