MELDRIM -- Ray A. Hales, 57, died July 3 at home.

He was born in Effingham County and was a member of Meldrim United Methodist Church. He retired from Johnston Foundry after 25 years of service and had also been employed by Union Camp, Meldrim plant.

SURVIVORS: his wife, Reba Stanford Hales of Meldrim; two daughters, Vicki Howard of Faulkville and Cheryl McDaniel of Rincon; two brothers, Marion P. Hales and Donald C. Hales, both of Meldrim; two grandsons, Robert Howard of Faulkville and Parker McDaniel of Rincon; and several nieces and nephews.

VISITATION: 6-8 p.m. today at Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home, West Chatham Chapel in Pooler.

FUNERAL: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home, West Chatham Chapel in Pooler, burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, Meldrim.
