Father: Leolin Vanderhook "VL" Campbell, 1st cousin 4x removed, (Born 16 Nov 1827, Iredell County, North Carolina, USA-Death 1888, North of Hunting Creek, Union Grove Township, Iredell, North Carolina, USA).

Emma C Campbell (Born 30 Jun 1851, Union Grove Township, Iredell, North Carolina, USA-Death 8 Aug 1856, Union Grove Township, Iredell, North Carolina, USA).

Maid: Unmarried

Photo appeared in the Statesville Record & Landmark, Statesville, Iredell, NC of Aunt Alice Campbell seen standing outside the old Perciphull Campbell Home (A NC Historic Site), where she lived.

Personal Note: Aunt Alice is related to me through Perciphull Campbell, and my mother, Magdalene Campbell Ellis - Mom tells me that, as a young girl, she always enjoyed visiting with Aunt Alice in her home. Aunt Alice would let mom play with her tea set and it made mom feel special. She loved children and company. Mom said that Alice never married and that she usually wore an apron.

Notes: Aunt Alice Campbell was a tall statured lady. She had lots of old china dishes and the house was full of beautiful furniture. The slaves cooked the meals in a separate kitchen, and brought them through a corridor into the main house.

Residence: The Perciphull Campbell House (Historical Landmark), Union Grove, Iredell, NC

Personal Note: During the 1960', my grandmother, Georgia Dora Sharpe Campbell, told me as we were walking to the Campbell graveyard, that she went to Aunt Alice's funeral (1936). Grandmother said that Alice was brought to the cemetery on a wagon only so far, and then her casket had to be carried because the horses and wagon couldn't make it through the ticket. Grandmother then told me that Aunt Alice was the last person to be buried in the cemetery back in 1936. Since then, a few others have been buried in the old cemetery.

Died: 21 Jan 1936, Union Grove, Iredell, North Carolina, USA

Burial: 22 Jan 1936, Campbell Graveyard, located behind the Perciphull & John R. & Lucy Williams Campbell House, Union Grove, Iredell, North Carolina, USA
