Merritt T. Bloom, superintendent of Chester Rural Cemetery, died at his home in Upland. He was 51 years of age.

Chester Rural Cemetery Superintendent Ill Long Time

Merritt t. Bloom, superintendent of the Chester Rural cemetery for the past two years, died at his home in Upland this morning shortly before 8 o'clock. He had been ill for more than 18 weeks.
Mr. Bloom had been a resident of Chester for more than 30 years. He came to this city from Everittstown, N.J., where he was born 51 years ago and where he spent his early youth.
He was popularly known in Chester and vicinity and was an active member of following fraternal organizations: Chester Lodge No. 236, F. and A.; Chester Chapter 258. R.A.M.; Chester Commandery, No. 66, Knights Templar; Modern Woodmen of America, and of the Shepherds of Bethlehem.
Mr. Bloom is survived by his widow, Mrs. Laura Taylor Bloom; by one son, Harris T. Bloom; by 3 brothers, Samuel, Harry and Arthur, and by one sister, Mrs. Fred Kephart, of Clinton, N.J.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 1 o'clock from his former residence in Upland and the Chester Rural cemetery. Interment will be in the Birmingham-Lafayette cemetery, Chester county.

The relatives and friends of the family also all organizations of which he was a member are invited to attend the funeral services Tuesday afternoon at 1 o'clock from his late residence, Upland Ave. and Chester Rural cemetery. Friends may call Monday evening. Interment at Birmingham-Lafayette cemetery, Chester County, Pa.
