Jim was married to Gloria Francine DOWNS.
Jim served in the USAF for 22 years and retired as a M/Sgt. He served at various AF bases in the US and overseas, including South Korea, Okinawa, and Turkey, as well as two isolated tours at Goose Bay, Labrador and St. Johns, Newfoundland.
Jim passed away on July 6, 1998 from prostate cancer which had spread to his hip and shoulder bones.
His funeral was held at Southside Baptist Church in Palatka, Florida with his good friend the Rev. J.O. McLeod officiating. There was a U.S. Air Force Honor Guard which served as pallbearers.
Jim's parents were Ralph E. McNett and Eileen J. Johnson
Francine's parents are Frederick Earl DOWNS and Hollene Pearl BOREN.
