Mrs. Williamson was born in Towns County, GA on Thursday, August 6, 1908, a daughter of the late Edward Moore and Mindy Barnes Brown. She was a homemaker and a lifelong resident of this area. Mrs. Williamson was a member of Many Forks Baptist Church. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Mr. James Williamson, who passed away in 2000.

Surviving are her husband, Mr. Charlie Williamson, of Union County; son and daughter-in-law Richard and Willa Mae Nicholson Williamson of Gastonia, NC; son and daughter-in-law Carroll and Rachel Jo Williamson of Young Harris, GA; daughter-in-law Rebecca Williamson of Cramerton, NC; four grandchildren: Ray Covington, Tony, Dewanna, and Karen Williamson; six great-grandchildren also survive, along with many friends and other relatives.

Funeral services were held Sunday, January 13, 2002 at 4 pm from the chapel of the Cochran Funeral Home in Blairsville with Rev. R.L. Martin officiating. Special music was presented by instrumentalist Alicia Covington and the Many Forks Duet, accompanied by Joyce Mason, pianist. The following gentlemen served as pallbearers: John Bilbo, Phil Williamson, Kenneth Davis, Gene Little, Sheldon Henderson, and Gary Martin. Interment was in the Many Forks Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggested memorials be made to Union County Nursing Home. Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville was in charge of arrangements.

I remember my Great-Aunt Nellie with a great deal of pleasure. Her smile was beautiful and she always brought good things to eat to the monthly family gatherings. She had a great fear of thunderstorms and often would go home early if one was threatening, even though we all did our best to reassure her. I have a table which once belonged to Aunt Nellie and it is always referred to as "Aunt Nellie's Table."
