Ludie Lonnie Smyth joined the Army in 1940 was a member of 513th Parachute Infantry & 17th Airborne Div. He was killed by a sniper while a paratrooper in Wesel, German April 3, 1945 & buried in Margraten, Holland. Reburied Dec. 8, 1948, in Nevel Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant, TX. He was awarded a Purple Heart & a Silver Star for his bravery & sacrifice during WWII.
