TYLERTOWN - Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Saulters-Moore Funeral Home Chapel in Prentiss for Bidwell Slater, 79, of Tylertown, who died May 11, 2006, at his residence. Burial will be in Slater Cemetery in New Hebron.
Mr. Slater was retired from the Alton, Ill., police department. He was preceded in death by a son, Gary Slater.
Survivors include his wife, June Slater of Tylertown; a daughter, Rebecca Pousson of Beaumont, Texas; a son, Stephen Slater of Beaumont; a brother, Ben Slater of Prentiss; a sister, Kay Christianous of Corpus Christi, Texas; and six grandchildren. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1:45 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
