Mary Virginia (Stuck) Rittler was born on Monday; September 7, 1912, in Burlington; Des Moines County, Iowa. She was the daughter of: Charles and Minnie Hillen Stuck. On Saturday; January 11, 1936, she married Alvin M. Rittler in Burlington. He passed away on Tuesday; May 11, 1971. Mary was a homemaker and had worked at Burlington Notre Dame High School for nine years. She was a member of SS. John & Paul Catholic Church and the Guardian Angel Aide Group. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family. Mary Virginia (Stuck) Rittler, age: 98, passed away on Sunday; March 6, 2011, at her home in Burlington, Iowa. Those left to mourn her passing are: Her two daughters: Mary Cheryl "Tootie" Rittler and Donna R. Pence both of Burlington, Iowa; her ten grandchildren; her fifteen great grandchildren; her two sisters: Phyllis Phillips and Helen Frank both of Burlington, Iowa; also several nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Besides her husband Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her one son: Richard "Dick" Rittler, her one brother: Charles Stuck and one infant granddaughter. May they rest in peace. May God bless her memory and give strength to those that mourn. Visitation will be from: 12:00 noon until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday; March 8, 2011, at the Hass-Thielen Funeral Home where the family will receive friends following a 5:00 p.m. Rosary Service until 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass of the Resurrection for Mrs. Rittler will begin at: 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday; March 9, 2011, at the Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church with the Reverend Father Michael T. Phillips as the Celebrant. Music will be provided by the Des Moines County Resurrection Choir. Interment will be at the Aspen Grove Cemetery in Burlington, Iowa. A time of food and fellowship will be held at the Hass-Thielen communtity room following the interment. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mary's honor have been established for SS.
